how much does your LO eat?

How much does your LO eat during each feeding?  Is there any kind of guide out there for this?  I BF, but when I pump and leave DH w/ the babies I have no idea how much BM or formula to leave.

Ours eats 4-5 oz these days. He used to eat more like 2. I generally assume that he eats as much as I pump and then I leave 1 extra serving just in case.

I think the "formula" is baby's weight x 2.5 divided by number of times a day they eat. So for my LO:

13 lbs x 2.5=  32.5 / 6 = 5.4 ounces per feeding.

I think this is a rough estimate. He generally eats about 28 to 30 ounces per day, or 4 or 5 ounces per feeding. So right under what this says he should be getting (and he's 75% for height and weight, so doing just fine).

I just left my mom 10ounces of bm to give to ds today. He ate 4oz in one feeding.

at 4 weeks, LO was eating about 2.5 ounces of BM at a time.
