Clinic is closed - Call Pediatrician on call or wait for tomorrow? WWYD?

I fear my daughter may have a bug or an allergy. I'm an EBFer and her poop has turned dark green and VERY mucusy. She has also been vomiting a lot. ((side note of hilarity- She puked all over DH's face while he was playing with her))

I know this may be an allergy or a bug, but I don't know if it is something that can wait until the clinic opens, or if I should call the hospital. WWYD?

  • Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary?  How is her temp?

If the answer to # 1 is no and her temp is okay, I would give her some pedialyte.  If she has a temp, I'd call the dr.

  • How is she eating?  Regardless, I would probably call the dr. on call.  I have never had any luck calling the hospital, they never tell me anything other than to bring him in if I think he's sick.

  • I would call the pedi, why not?

  • I would call your pediatrician if he has an advice line or doctor on call. If the hospital has someone on-call you can chat with that would be a good option too. I wouldn't go running out to the ER though.

Good luck and I hope your little girl feels better soon!

  • My DD had the same issue.  I ended up cutting dairy from my diet to resolve it. . . never went to a pedi for it.
