An increase in spit up? (amount & frequency)

My DD is almost 8 weeks and I feel like she's been spitting up more lately. At lease 2-3 times a day, sometimes a lot! A few weeks ago I feel like it was rare for her to spit up after eating...

Anything to be worried about do u think?

  • Liam spits up after or during every bottle, sometimes a lot.  As long as he is gaining weight and he doesn't seem in pain and there isn't red or brown in it I was told it was ok.

  • I wouldn't worry. DS has been doing that too. Some days (like yesterday) he will spit up after almost every meal. Other days he won't spit up at all.

  • Are you bf'ing or ff'ing?

If bf'ing, it could be something you are eating.

If ff'ing, you may want to try a soy formula.

  • I'm breastfeeding and my baby spits up a lot! He's not fussy or colicky so my doctor said he is probably swallowing too much air so I should burp him more frequently and he could be getting too much milk too quickly ( I have lots of milk and a very fast let-down) She also said to try to keep him in more of an upright position for a little while after a feeding. Good luck!
