our little guy does not like to be flat on his back and hasnt since we were at the hospital.....right now he sleeps in Fisher Price rocker sleeper thing (awesome by the way, thanks for all who recommend it)  but I am afraid now hes never going to sleep in his crib...is there anything you can do so he can sleep in crib but with a slight raise or something?

Re: anyone elses LO not like to sleep on their back?

  • BRU has crib wedges.

DD hated sleeping on her back too.  We had her sleeping in the bassinet in our room and everytime we put her in it (no matter in how deep a sleep she was in) she would wake up and scream. The pedi told us she could sleep on her side.  That helped.  But then DH's mom (she was sent from G-D I think) told us that she may just not like her bassinet, so 2 days ago we started putting her in her crib on her back and she sleeps soundly!

We also swaddle her at night, which helps!

  • DS wasn't a fan of back sleeping at first, he slept most nights on his side - but now he varies about 50/50 between back sleeping and side sleeping.

  • My LO is a big side sleeper, he may start out on his back, but he always ends up on his side... just like his mom!

My LO is 9 weeks old and has slept soundly in her crib since coming home from the hospital. She also does not like to sleep on her back when we've tried it.  I swaddle her and lay her directly on her side with a sleep positioner keeping her tightly in place.  She is now up to 8-10 hrs straight at night!
