My baby is miserable on Nutramigen, he spits up a lot, does not seem filled, cries more than ever, and poops after every single feeding. We have some regular Enfamil in the house, would it be bad to give him some just to see how he handles it and if he is happier because it's more satisfying? My instincts are telling me he can handle it and that we jumped the gun with all of these super sensitive formulas. I know you're supposed to ease them back into it by alternating both formulas, which we would do...just curious--anyone try this?
Re: Switching back to reg formula from sensitive..
Really? okay great! thank you so much
We tried to go from sensitive (lactose free) to a gentle (with lactose) formula and it turned DD into a demon child. She was screaming til she turned purple and balling up with gas. It was HORRIBLE!! After 2 days she was switched to soy and is back to her happy self.
We've had to switch formulas a few times and our pedi said there was no need to transition into a new formula, just change them.
Haha, funny you should say that, bec he was like a demon child on the Nutramigen! I think bec he wasn't being filled up and he hated the taste. We tried soy and that was a disaster, and we've been on gentle w/lactose and that wasn't making him happy either! The only reason we took him off the regular formula was bec of his crying from gas (general colic) which has been an issue with every formula so far....sometimes I just think my baby is ultra expressive about gas pains or needing to burp and becomes out of control really quickly..
