Hiccups?

DS has had hiccups about 4 or 5 times today. We've been up since 6, and it's just now 2pm (UK time). Is there anything I can do to help him? I usually give him a drink of his formula and it helps stop them, but today he's just been spitting it back out.

Re: Hiccups?

  • DD gets them alot the pedi said babies get them when they are growing. If you give them a paci it usually stops them, but they will be back :) I was told they don't hurt them at all, and she even sleeps through them now.

DS gets them a lot, too.  We give him gripe water and it stops them right away.  It's kind of amazing!  (He uses a paci on nthe regular but it has never stopped his hiccups)

same here. I give it in a medicine paci. So she gets to suck at the same time.  Works every time.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. We do use a paci, but he'll only take it when he's falling asleep. The rest of the time he spits that back out too!

We finally got them to stop by putting him in his bouncer for awhile, with it on vibrate mode. :)
