Babies: 0 - 3 Months

You know how everyone says...

..."You're so lucky you didn't have to be pregnant through the hot summer"?  I'm starting to think maybe that would of been better then having a NB during the hot summer!  I can't even take him outside some days and BBQ's are a PITA because he's just so miserable & hot, I end up sitting in the house with him, by myself.  My 14 yr old DD and I LOVE the beach, and we live in a beautful resort town with tons of lakes and  beaches, yet I can't figure out a way to go to the beach with LO.  Ugh!

  • Where do you live in MI?

I took DD to the beach starting at 2 weeks old (last August). I bought her a sun tent so she could sleep comfortably in the shade :)

I live in Traverse City.  ML bought us a little tent, but it only has an opening in the front so I'm afraid it'll be like a little oven inside!  Where are you?

  • I was thinking the same thing.  I think our goal for DC#2 will be a Nov-Feb arrival.  I was only warm during my third tri, so maybe our new plan will work
  • I was thinking the same thing! I was trying to lay out by the pool yesterday and I was out there for 10 min. and I heard DS cry on the monitor and had to go in. I got him calmed down and he went to sleep , went back outside same thing happened! I finally just gave up and came back in :(

  • I agree! I live in the desert and our temps are hovering around 100? now. DD1 loves to be outside and playing but DD2 gets so hot! Not to mention she only wants me to hold her because of her reflux, and my body heat makes her hotter.
  • It's SO hot here and I love going outside. I do manage to go outside every day but it's such a hassel with all the things I need to take to keep them protected from the sun. When we go to Spain in August, I am going to need to take so much crap because it's so hot there.
