We use Playtex Ventaire advanced and Similac Sensitive for formula. My LO has reflux and these bottles have been a godsend..also the Zantac..but I love the bottles too!
2.5 yrs of TTC, 6 failed IUI's (clomid then injectibles), 1 failed fresh IVF (with 27 eggs retrieved), and finally our sticky baby on FET #1 in August 2009. Baby Aiden arrived on April 24, 2010!!!!

Can't help w/ the formula question - we used the powdered but for bottles we use the Dr. Brown's and I HATE that there are so many parts to wash (we don't have a DW) but DD does really well on them and rarely has gas issues. So to me, its worth it!
I would try a few different ones and see what your LO does best on before going out and buying a whole slew of the same kind.
As far as bottles go, we've always used Avent. All the ones we had for DS (bought approx. 1 year ago) leak about 50% of the time and drive me crazy. However, we bought some 4 oz. ones for DD and they have an added part and don't leak at all. So, we're friends again

You can leave premade at room temp. After that just heat in bottle- we run under hot water.
We had dr brown, avent, and born free. I hated all the parts and switched to playtex dropins. LO doesn't swallow air since it's a bag and I only clean the nipple. We got extra nipples so we don't need many bottles. I have no idea why I didn't start w them.
We're feeding Similac Sensitive powder. As for bottles I started out w/ the playtex dropins and playtex ventaire. He was very gassy w/ both of them. we have since switched to the dr. browns and are pretty pleased w/ it!

.

We use the ready-to-feed Similac Advanced. We use the Munckin bottle warmer usually or we stick the bottle in a mug of hot water.
We're still in the process of finding our perfect bottle.
So far I am liking Avent...DD seems to.
I have Dr. Browns bottles but they make DD cough, like the nipple is too fast, even though I have the "preemie" nipples.
