  • DD cries when she needs me, and wakes me up.And there are times that she sleeps on my chest, so I know every movement.

That being said, there's so much to do around here that I rarely sleep when she sleeps.

  • I had a really hard time the first month sleeping when he slept because I would worry myself so much. Eventually I got my nerves calmed and got more in tune with my son meaning we could both sleep soundly and peacefully. You'll get use to it :)

  • I had the same problem. I told my mom about it she just told me that i was being silly the baby is perfectly safe in the bed and if they need you, believe me you'll wake up.  She was right I tell myself she's safe and I'll wake up if she needs me before I go to bed and with out a doubt I always do.  Hope this helps.

  • I was like that the first 2wks or so, but I have totally learned to sleep when DS sleeps.  DS has no problem letting us know when he's awake and needs something!

  • I totally understand your anxiety.  I was like this for the first week or 2.  It will get better I promise!  Also, when she naps in her crib (she sleeps at night in our room) it is a huge piece of mind to me that we have an Angelcare monitor in there so I know she is okay.

  • I was the same way.  In fact, I wouldn't even roll over in bed and lay on my left side (DS sleeps in his bassinet to my right).  I have since learned to relax.  I have an Angelcare Monitor (which I highly recommend), DS sleeps swaddled (which is supposed to decrease the risk of SIDS), I don't smoke, there is a ceiling fan on in the room, and I am right next to him.  I have done everything I can do to keep him safe and with that knowledge, I can finally sleep.  (Of course that is after all the housework is done)
