Hello Mommies! 3rd tri-er asking for advice. I got like 6 or 7 swaddles (7-14lb) at my showers. Do I need all of those or should I take some back for a different sizes. TIA ~K
Take some back. Honestly, we have 2 and they do the trick. Most of the time we still use the hospital receiving blankets to swaddle anyway. But either way I think 7 is probably too many in one size!

Honestly those swaddleme things are a pain.. DD always wiggled her arms out of the holes and such..
They are good for changing but I always have to reswaddle her in em anyway because of her squirming..Point is! Too many keep one or two and if anything recieving blankets work wonders as well
I stopped swaddling at 2 weeks though and only got one swaddleme at my shower so it worked out for me.
I would actually wait until after your baby is born. I had 6 (2 in each size) and DD HATES being swaddled. I would open and wash one so you have it ready. If it works - great! Then you casn return 4-5 of them for other sizes, if it doesn't work then you can return them all for something else.
No sense in returning twice if your baby doesn't like to be swaddled.

I now have 4, 2 in each size. She doesn't sleep without it and it's nice to have 2 in case she spits up or her diaper leaks. But I would wait to make sure your LO likes being swaddled. My DD wiggles right out of a receiving blanket, but is great in the swaddleme.
Sounds like more then you need in the same size. My LO loves being swaddled, and we had 3 at a time in each size, which works great. He spit up a lot in the beginning, and I just couldn't do laundry every day or ervery other day. We use Halo SleepSack Swaddles, and I love that the swaddle part can be removed if LO doesn't like being swaddled or when you just want to use the sleepsack part. If you got a different brand, I'd recommend getting the Halo ones instead!
Re: swaddles - how many?
I have a lightweight cotton for summer, and a fleece for winter.
Other than that, recieving blankets are fine.
