If you have a low-lying placenta during pregnancy come in..

I have a low-lying placenta (discovered at my 20 week u/s).  I had another u/s last week (at 32 weeks) to see if it have moved away as my uterus grew.  Not yet.  So I have to go back for another u/s at 36 weeks to check again.  I'm really hoping it moves so that I have the option of delivering vaginally (as I did with DD1).

So my questions are- if you had a low-lying placenta during pregnancy, did it move?  How far along were you when you knew it moved away from your cervix? Were you able to deliver vaginally?  Or did you have to have a c-section?

tia.

I figured I'd ask you girls since it's been so recent for you.

  • Mine was low at te 20 week u/s and then moved sometime later but I am not sure when. I did have a c-section but it was because of pre-e at 34 weeks.

  • I had partial placenta previa discovered at almost 16 weeks when I had some mild bleeding.  By our anatomy scan at 19 weeks, it had resolved.  GL!

Mine was complete at 31 weeks. I was on bed rest for five weeks and delivered DD by c-section at 36 weeks. Placenta never moved.

  • Mine was discovered at the 20 week ultrasound, and I kept having follow up u/s every four weeks until 36 weeks when it was finally discovered that it had moved WAY up and was no longer a risk (they guessed that it moved when baby turned and dropped).
