c-section moms: bleeding question

Hi ladies. I had my lil one just about 2 weeks ago via c-section and I've had on and off bleeding for the last week. Today I started bleeding heavily--more so than I ever have in these past weeks...  did any of you have a simular situation or could I actually be starting a cycle?

Re: c-section moms: bleeding question

  • With my 1st c-section I quit bleeding after 2 weeks.  This time around I quit bleeding at about a week and a half and then restarted bleeding almost a week later.  Mine was not heavy but it was almost like a period, but it was still my PP bleeding.  I am still having discharge at 6 weeks pp.  If you are worried about the amount of bleeding call you doctor but I do believe it is normal to bleed off and on.

  • If you move around more than you have been the bleeding can become heavier. It took about a month and a half to get my cycle back.

  • I bled up until two weeks ago.  Now I spot off and on.  Mine has been tricky.  I'd think it was gone and it would just reappear out of nowhere. It's completely normal.

I'm 5 weeks out and at about 2 weeks had a heavier brighter red bleeding start up after the bleeding had tapered off but it only last a couple days and since them I have had two times where I thought my bleeding was done but it starts again like I'm beginning a period.....it's really annoying :-P If you think the bleeding is to heavy call your OB quick and ask about it....doesn't hurt to check it out but I am sure your fine :-)

  • My doctor's NP told me that it is common for women to have an increase in bleeding at around 2 weeks PP after a c/s.   She said that most women start to feel better at that point and start doing more.  The increased activity results in more bleeding.  You should probably try to get a bit more rest.
