I think Cadie has colic. She starts crying around 3:30 when we get home from work and continues until 8:30 when we give her a bath. We've tried gas drops, gripe water, tummy massages, and bicycle kicks. Nothing helps.
Well my mom called me today because she went yardsaling to pick up some things we'll need when we go visit next week. She was super excited that she found a fancy swing that swings in both directions. The lady that sold it to her said that the side to side motion did wonders for her colicky baby.
Our's swings in both directions, but she's only like the front to back motion in the past. Cadie's wanted nothing to do with it the last couple of weeks. So I switched it over to swing side to side and she immediately fell asleep. It's her first nap in, no lie, over 2 weeks.
Why did I not think of this?!
Re: I can't believe I didn't try that.
I've seen those side to side swings and wondered how they worked. Good to hear--hope it helps!
PS Go Phillies!!
I'm sorry you have a colicky Cadie!
In the beginning, Lily only liked her swing to be moving side to side. But then she started to get really fussy every time she went in the swing. Finally we set the setting to front to back and now she loves it!
