Reflux Question

How does putting rice cereal in LO's bottle help with reflux? It's something the pedi mentioned we'd talk about if she thinks we need to do it, and I didn't ask why. Does anyone do this/know about this?

When it's thicker it's not as easy for it to shoot up their throat and for them to choke and gag on it, I think.

We do feel that it has helped Livy.  She sleeps more soundly and doesn't seem to gag as badly or as often.

If you don't mind my asking - how much do you put in her bottle? Are you mixing it with formula or breast milk (if that even matters.) Is it every bottle?
