Help! 5 wk old fighting sleep everytime.

For the last week my LO (5wks) has started to fight sleep every time its time to fall asleep - unless we're out for a walk. Even when nursing she pulls away and yells and waves her arms frantically.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Same problem here...even the waving of her arms and yelling during nursing. DD is 8 weeks and it's getting slighly better. Some naps she'll fall asleep quickly but most of the time she fights it...and screams and cries. I try to get her to fall asleep at the very first sign of fussing and that definitely seems to help (sometimes even BEFORE she starts to fuss)!

She might be overtired. As soon as DS starts to yawn i try to rock him for a little bit until he falls asleep or put him in the swing with some white noise on and he falls right asleep with little to no fussing. If i wait too long then he really fights sleep too! HTH:)

Try swaddling and white noise!   Darken the room if you can.  And as the pp said, try to put him down the minute he starts acting tired...or yawning. If you wait too long he may get overtired and then not be able to settle down.

Same problem.  We use a halo swaddle sleepsack and an old noisy box fan!

LO did that. Just starting to get better. Actually today is the first day that we've been able to put her down for a nap. We had to use the hairdryer and pat her butt for an hour or so to get her to sleep and then to keep her asleep we needed white noise (fan) along with swaddling. It will get better! GL
