L&D Question - Trunks for DH

Hello! I have a labor and delivery question for you ladies. Did your DHs bring (and use) swim trunks with them to the hospital (For helping you in the shower)? Someone on my month board was just asking about it, and I thought you ladies might know best. TIA!

My DH brought his, we planned on a water delivery and he needed them to get in the birth tub with me. I didn't need any help in the shower afterward.

I didn't need any shower help either, and the nurse was just outside the curtain incase anything was needed.

We brought them to use if I wanted to labor in the shower so he could be in there with me. He didn't end up using them because by the time we actually were in the delivery room I was already in transition and in need of pain relief. As far as shower help, after having all kinds of people up in my crotch for 2 days, I did not want or need anyone in there!! There was also a seat in the shower in case I wasn't up for standing the whole time.

We didn't pack any, and I was fine in the shower by myself.

DH helped me in the shower, but was naked and kept some gym shorts in the bathroom so he could cover up if we needed to call a nurse.

This exactly. We did pack them because our room had a jacuzzi tub that I thought I might use during labor and with all those people around he would've needed to be covered up, LOL. But my labor got very painful very quickly and I had to have meds.

We were in the hospital several days before LO was born so DH helped me in the shower before and after delivery day. Before because I had pre-eclampsia and everyone was afraid I might stroke out in the shower and shouldn't be left alone, and after because I was pretty sore and needed a helping hand to reach all the parts I wanted to wash.

No, DH helped me, but not actually in the shower. He helped me get my hair lathered and would hand me the stuff I needed. ( I still had part of my IV in and couldn't get it wet.)

I was planning to labor in the tub so yes DH brought his bathingsuit with him but the room I got had a tub in the bathroom and it was on the smallish size and we couldn't both fit in there, I was only in it for 10 mins b/c it just wasn't comfortable for me. When I stood up to be in the shower I stripped down naked so it was easiest, DH came in at one point and he just told the nurse he was going in and shutting the door and he stripped down with me. So no he never used his.
