Kidney Stones after m/c?

So after all I have had to deal with this year with the added awesome uterine infection, I have another awesome thing to add to my year... and it isnt even half over!!  I spent 7 hours in the emergency room in extreme pain last night.  Turns out, I have a kidney stone.  I was wondering... has anyone had a kidney stone after their m/c?  I forgot to ask the ER doc about it...

sooo much pain!  I need a pity party and chocolate.

So sweetie, I am sorry.  I am happy to supply both the pity and the chocolate.  But we will need to add drinks to the list to make this a party.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

  • My Mom did after she had my brother. They told her it was from all of the extra vitamin c she had when she was pregnant. Feel better soon!

  • Oh wow, yes. I thought I was the only person on here who got to experience the lovely joy of a kidney stone in the same month as losing my baby.

I had the D&C on 4/7 and experienced my first ever kidney stone on 4/30. I also found out I had a UTI at the same time (but I didn't have any symptoms of the UTI).

After I got the diagnosis of an NTD on 4/1, I started loading up on extra B vitamins in addition to the high folic acid my dr put me on. I don't know if that had something to do with it, as the B vitamins also have tons of vitamin C in it as well. The urologist I went to said that extra vitamins could cause the stones. Also, they are more common in PG as well.

I so sorry you had to experience this as well. It totally sucks.

  • yay for the pity party and cocktails!!!

And total suck for being related to pg/ mc.  When I catch the little bugger, I will ask the urologist what caused this.  When I was pg, I ate sooooooooooo much vitamin C... I also continued taking my prenatals.  Hmm.
