I was visited by a physiotherapist in the hospital. She said I can resume exercise at 6 weeks. Until then, I'm on light lifting only, nothing over 8 lbs. I had a vag delivery, but it was very quick and took a huge toll on my pelvic floor.

I started light walking about a week after(Target/Walmart trips) and progressed more and more. I was cleared for workout at my 6 week appt, but was told to "listen" to my body. I started Zumba at 7weekspp and just did the light version. I spin, but didn't start that until after I had my gallbladder surgery. As far as running, it still kind of feels weird.
Dr. cleared me for swimming at 8 weeks. He said that as long as my incision was closed and not red, then I could swing. No hot tubs for 2 months.
WOW THANK YOU!! I FEEL INSPIRED YOU AWESOME MOMS!!!! AND YOUR CHILDREN & BABIES ARE SIMPLY ADORABLE!! THIS WILL BE MY FIRST I CAN NOT WAIT TO FEEL LIKE MY OLD SELF EVEN THOUGH MY PREGNANT SELF FEELS PRETTY GREAT!
I had a vag. delivery...no tearing/episiotomy or complications.
OB told me ONLY walking for exercise for the 1st 4 weeks, which I did, then she said I could ease back into working out after that. I am just now 4 weeks pp and have started the 30 Day Shred (I am on day 2 of Level 1). Doing the "jumping" portions of the DVD is uncomfortable in the crotch, but not bad.
My Dr. also said no swimming or baths til 6 weeks pp, which is a bummer...our pool is open and boat is ready and it is going to be a beautiful, hot weekend.
I started walking 40 minutes a day a week after my vag delivery. I just had my 2 week PP follow up and my OB said my uterus was back to normal and since I feel great go ahead and start my workouts if I want. So I started with the ellipical and crunches today.,..MAN was it HARD!
I had a vaginal delivery, an episiotomy and started back at the gym 1 week pp. I did the elliptical starting out for a few weeks. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but I just went slower if I felt the stitches pull. I cant stand not being able to workout so I had to go back asap!
Re: When did you workout after v or c-section labor?
Both c-section and vaginal. . . I walked/hiked immediately.
C-section. . . waited 'til my 6 week appointment for everything else.
Vaginal. . . started light workouts at the gym at about 5 weeks.
