Do you sometimes...

Want your old life back?  Today is one of those days.  I want my old life back.  My old body, my boobs to be my own and not DD's.  I want my freedom.  Am I a terrible mommy because i feel this way?  Please tell me I'm not alone.

Re: Do you sometimes...

  • You are not alone.  I felt that way a lot.  Usually when she is crying for no reason but to cry.

  • You're not alone. I have a pretty awesome LO who almost never has screaming fits or crying jags, and yet I've still felt this way. Namely at 3am when I'm trying to get her to latch correctly, or when it takes me 1/2 hour just to get out the door. I hear it gets better though. I'm SURE it gets better.

  • Your not a bad mommy by any means. I remember going through the same thing when DD was born, and it passed within a few wks.

  • No, you aren't a terrible mommy. I think most of us (if not all) have felt this way at times. Even though our LO's are certainly a precious gift we have gone through enormous change physically, mentally, emotionally, relationship wise - the list goes on and on!

I can't picture my life without Cody, and some days I have moments that I wish I could just run out of the house at the drop of the hat to shop or meet friends and not have to plan every little detail to do so. I think it's completely normal to feel like you want some part of that freedom back!
  • You're so not alone!!  I think every mommy has moments and days like this.  Hang in there, and make sure you talk about it when you need to.
  • You are definitely not alone.  Especially with it being a holiday weekend, we are usually at the river this weekend every year.  I can't wait to be able to start working out again.

  • you're not alone! my life is so much different now and i can't say that i don't miss my old life--cause i do.

  • Thank you for replying and making me feel better.  I seriously feel like crap today.  I'm dealing with PPD and am on medication, but I just want to feel normal and like I want to be a mommy.  So thank you!  You ladies are awesome.
