Babies spit up... The question is, at what point do you decide that they spit up too much and you should do something about it? Just curious if I should be concerned with the amount that my LO spits up.
We where Dx with reflux at 9wks. Hunter spits up enough to soil his shirt but also enough to make him want to eat again. But the doctor told us that it's the color and sometimes smell of the spit up. Hunters was clear and always smelled sour and was super hot. We are now on medication and they did put us on the Aliementum (Sp) formula by similac but he wouldn't take it. So we are back on the Similac Sensitive.
The formula you choose can help (if you are FF). Similac RS and Enfamil AR have rice starch in it. It helps keep it down and less spit up. But it can then cause pooping problems.
If you are breastfeeding, they will tell you to cut dairy out of your diet completely and it chould help. But the medication helps the most, But I hated to Medicate so quickly so we tired everything first.
But some babies just spit up.... I've taken pictures of the amounts too and have shown the doctor.
Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it unless LO seems upset while doing it. There is nothing wrong with the actual spitting up, it's when LO is in pain while they are doing it that is cause for concern. (or of course if they are not thriving, then you need to talk to pedi!)
I knew something was up when DS started crying after he spit up. Also, he would occasionally "pop", as I like to call it, and projectile vomit all over me. Also, he started spitting up copious amounts during/after pretty much every feeding which isn't normal.
