What kind of formula??

I EP and am just not producing enough to satisfy DS.  I started supplementing with formula at every feeding so he is getting enough.  DS is a very gassy baby and it has become worse with the formula.  I am using carnation Good Start.  Does anyone know of a formula that cuts down on the gas?  TIA!

  • Try a Soy product. I know Similac makes one for less gas, less fuss. But first call your pedi to get their suggestion.

  • Our pedi just put us on Similac Isomil. It is soy based. It is for gas, fussiness. and spit up. They have one called Similac Sensitive. Which is for fussiness and gas. But def. talk to your pedi. She may suggest a different brand or something else completely.

  • We use Target's Up&Up version of Enfamil Gentlease. It's only $12 a can and Ally does great on it. Hasn't had a bad belly ache since she was about 6 weeks. We were using Good Start Gentle Plus and she did great on that as well. I switched to Up&Up because it's pretty much the same thing just much cheaper. Good luck!

  • Hunter has some feeding issues and is FF *Not my first choice before i get flamed* So I've done alot of reasearch and He's tried alot of different types of formula.

We have been told by several GI specialists that Similac is a bit more sensitive on tummys then Enfamil. Good start is similar to Similac. It may take a few different brands or types before you find one that works. Start with the regular and go from there. Most babies are perfectly fine on the normal formulas.

Soy is good for babies that have alot of gas, Our GI says the similac Soy is softer on tummys then the Enfamil.

     Good Luck!
