When do they figure out how to poop?

DS is still screaming/crying/wailing/fussing when he's trying to push one out. The pediatrician said he still hasn't figured out that he needs to relax his bum, but I can't remember when she said he should have that figured out. Anyone else know?

I think DD was about 6 weeks when she stopped screaming with every poop.

DS is just under 6 weeks and he is still doing this...can't wait for him to figure that feeling out!

My DS still does this most of the time.  I can't wait until he grows out of it!

Be careful to not get it mixed up with constipation. Keep an eye on it.

Hunter did this until he was 9wks.... But then he got consitpated because he didn't want to go and had to help him a few times... Then we had to switch formulas to help him go easier.

They will figure it out...

our LO didn't figure it out until 8-10 wks...my DH said the other day "I'm so glad she turned into a happy baby now!"  lol  I think he was having a hard time dealing w/her crying/fussing so much.  she goes now & sometimes I don't even know it until I get a wiff.  Just be patient & it'll get better!
