Girl name help

DD's name is Olivia, and I love the name Ava. Are they too matchy?

Ava Marie

Olivia Lynn

Re: Girl name help

  • they're fine together
  • I don't think so... their both beautiful names and although they do rhyme they have a different number of syllables.  I think they're cute together.

  • I think their names compliment each other quite nicely. I really like Ava and Olivia together.  I say go for it.

  • I think they are great w/ each other.  I think most names that also start w/ a vowel will sound nice!

  • I think they work well together. Olivia and Ava seem like sisters.
  • They are a little matchy, but not enough to consider a different name.

  • I think they are fine. I think Ava is an awesome name.

  • On their own, the names are fine.  But if I met someone with daughters named Ava and Olivia, my immediate response would be a mental eye roll and the thought that the parents couldn't get beyond the Top 10 list.
  • I REALLY like Ava. :)

I tend to agree with this. I think the same thing about friends who have daughters named Emma and Isabella. REAL original.

And honestly I think people will start to confuse them bc the names are kinda similar and overly popular.

  • I like them, sound good together
  • I don't like Ava and Olivia together--something about the two "v's" just doesn't sound right.

Please don't name your daughter Ava Marie, it's far too close to Ave Maria.

Olivia Lynn is pretty. Olivia Marie is also nice.

While both are great names, they are too close more my taste.

  • They definitely go together, I think they were listed in the top twins names of last year according to the social security website. I love both names!
  • My bff named her 2 girls Olivia Paige and Ava Marie. How are they matchy?
  • I actually know sisters named Ava and Olivia and think they go great together.
