This could save your Childs Life-Please Read (From 3-6)

Summer is already here and with that the first infant/child death has already been reported in OK. It is SO horrible. I can see easily how this could happen to a sleep deprived parent or person who does not usually have a child.  The biggest mistake we can make is thinking it can't happen to us: https://www.newsok.com/2-year-old-is-oklahomas-first-heat-related-death-of-year/article/3464374?custom_click=lead_story_title

One of our news channels left the following tips that could save your child's life and I felt it important to share with you ladies. I have posted on the other boards as well. This story just gives me such a sick feeling.

What you can do

?If you see a child unattended in a hot vehicle call 911.

?Teach your children that vehicles are never to be used as a play area.

?Place your purse or briefcase in the backseat as a reminder that you have a child in the car.

?Keep a stuffed animal in the car seat and when the child is put in the seat put it in the front with the driver.

?Make "look before you leave? a routine whenever you get out of the car.

?Have a plan that your childcare provider will call you if your child does not show up for school.

  • This is my biggest irrational fear. The stuffed animal in the seat is a good idea!

  • TX had our first reported one yesterday, an 18 mo child snuck outside while grandma thought he was napping (parents worked night shift and were sleeping in the house as well. He climbed into a neighbors car and was found 2 hours later after police saw a stool next to the car. So sad!

  • Thanks for posting this. We can all use information like this as a reminder. The story made me so sad and just gives me a terribly sick feeling. I can't imagine and don't want to even imagine how that mother feels.

  • My brother is autistic and loves to climb  in cars. We lock our vehicles when not using them. I could never forget my baby because I have 2 other kids that yell the second I open the door :) Thanks for the PSA

  • I hate hearing about these things. Breaks my heart. I like the stuffed animal idea too.
