Drive By BFB?

Ya Never Know

I work for a pretty large organization, and I can't understand why they feel the need to do baby announcements organization-wide through email.

I, nor anyone in this building, know any of the people that they're talking about, nor do we work in the vicinity of any of them, so why on earth would I need to know that Kate Holland from accounting in timbuktoo had her baby? Good for her, now that I know this, I can finally get on with my day.

I get at least 3 of these emails a day, it's just kind of annoying.

That's so weird! Sorry you have to deal with that, I can imagine it would get really annoying!

Do they also send out marriage, graduation, death, etc. announcements?

That's very odd. I work for a HUUUUUGE company, but we only get announcements through our distribution lists, so I would only hear about a birth for someone in this building, or the extension of my department at our corporate HQ. Definitely not something that 100,000 people need to know.

I just got one from the hone office as well and I was annoyed about it, I logged in and your post.  Talk about timing.  It is annoying and I understand where you are coming from...hopefully we won't get anymore of those emails today
