LO hasn't pooped since Tuesday.

I called the pedi and she hasn't returned my call yet but is it normal for babies to go this long without pooping? She has some really smelly gas but she doesn't seem to be in any sort of discomfort. She is EBF.

My pedi had said she is not concerned if they have 1 poop in a 72 hour span. If there is no poop close to the 72 hour mark she advised to stick a rectal thermometer in their bottom to help move things along, or give a little prune juice to them (I forget how much she said to give since the thermometer did the trick for us).

Although my LO is FF, one trick I tried (which worked almost instantly) was rubbing her tummy (right below the UC) and she pooped as I was doing it. Sorry if you've already tried this! GL!

Look up the "I love you" method for rubbing an infants tummy. I swear by it!!!

It's normal for BFed babies to range from moving their bowel every feeding to only once or twice a week.

Thanks ladies, she actually just went. I think there is more coming as she is a little fussy now and kicking her legs.
