Zantac question

The doctor just switched DS's reflux medicine to Zantac and the pharmacist said to give it to him at least 20 minutes before everyother feeding (since DS eats 6 times a day).

Do you give the Zantac 20 minutes before feedings or at the same time? It is difficult to get DS to wait 20 minutes to eat after he wakes up from a nap and is ready to eat.

Also, what dose does your LO take? We switched from Prevacid because it wasn't working well, and I don't think his doctor is giving him the most he can for his size and weight. I just want to go to a specialist already. We have been dealing with this for 2 1/2 months and he is starting to backslide.

Re: Zantac question

  • I give it to her when she wakes up around 5/6am then around her 2pm feeeding then her last feeding before bed around 9 and she is 7pounds 4oz and we give her .4ML it's sorta hard waiting that 20 mins, sometimes we don't wait and sometimes she waits, we give her the bottle if she's crying and wanting to eat of course though
