Is this normal?

My LO has done this twice now but I'm not sure if it's normal or not. Hoping you guys can shed some light on it! A couple days ago I was walking with my LO in her stroller and she has a plush head positioner in the car seat, well she was tired and half asleep and turned her head to the left and started to stick her tongue out on the plush head positioner. She kept doing it and kept trying to turn her head even further to the point where she could have rolled over but when i tried to stop her from "eating" the fuzzy thing she was very rigid and didn't want to stop. She has done this again this morning after she woke up from a nap in her Little Lamb swing and she started sticking out her tunge and turning her head to the left to chew on the fur of the swing seat. I had to pick her up to reposition her but she was really turning left with her head that I thought she would roll right over. Any ideas why she does this now? It's a new behavior for her and she is 11 weeks old today!Maybe she is looking for a nipple but it's a new behaviour so I m not sure. Any ideas? TIA!

Does she want to eat? It sounds like she's rooting.

Rooting. It's a reflex for them to turn their head and try to suck when something touches their cheek. Totally normal

I agree that it could be this.  I have also noticed my little guy "licking" everything lately, I kind of attribute it to learning.  Babies put stuff in their mouth and with stuff that is already by their heads, they just don't have to use their hands to get it there.

My DD does this when she loses her paci...but not always, so maybe it's a fluke for her!

Hmmm. It could have been rooting or that she lost her paci. i find that she doesn't exhibit any other signs of being hungry and I tried putting a nipple on the other cheek but she still wouldn't turn her head to the nipple so I figured she wasn't hungry but that's not to say she wasn't becase she did eat a few minuted later. She also was looking for her paci I just find that she getes so involved in the fuzzy thing she doesn't pay attention to the paci or nipple when it is presented to her. Probably a bit of all three a little bit hungry but also learning as well. Either way I'm glad to know it's normal! Thanks Everyone!
