Does anyone use Good Start? Need help.

We are playing the formula game and can't seem to find one that is good for our DD.  We used Similac Sensitive with our first and she did well, but our 2nd DD was very backed up and strained so much.  The doctor told us to go on Alimentum, but the results seem to be the same as Sensitive.  Before this we also tried Good Start which seemed to be working, but gave her gas (which the other two did/do as well).  The pedi said to switch to Alimentum.  I want to switch back to Good Start, but don't know if I should switch again?  Any opinions on these formulas/situation would be great! Thanks!  Also, we have been using Alimentum for a week. TIA

  • Alimentum is a specialty formula that is usually prescribed due to a food reaction/allergy. Switching to Good Start won't make it better if your LO really has this issue....unless you think the pedi jumped the gun with this? If your LO did best on Good Start then I would go back to it....try adding gripe water for the gas. We have been on 3 formulas already.

  • I use Good Start and LO tolerates it well. She has gas but nothing uncomfortable for her. GL!

  • we used to think that one of my LOs had a milk sensitivity, but we've been using the Gentle Plus and both boys are doing just fine with it.  But, I only use one oz per bottle in their night feeds, so I'm not sure how they would do with a full bottle of it

  • We used good start with probiotics, but not until around age 9 months, so I don't know if they react differently younger.  We liked it, no extra gas.
