My husband says that you can make any room awesome with the right lighting....so get busy!
My confession....My MIL came over today to watch the babies (so I could take Nat to get her hair trimmed/toes done & shop at Gymboree). I purposely haven't swept the kitchen for 2 days and didn't clear the dishes out of the sink because I knew she would do both. I love her and her ADD side when she's here. (and I used to complain about her doing these things!)

DH and I both did lighting design LOL ?To an extent your DH is right. ?The ONE room I like is my music room and it has a kickass chandelier in it. ?Unfortunately it's overrun with toys and craftsh*t at the moment so I can't even go in there for my mental health. ?

I thought that said the room was overrun with toys and CATFISH at first- I was like...dood-I would hate your house too!
I love the idea of what my house will be one day. The current state of it-- not so much. We've been here about 6 weeks and my living room still looks like a storage unit.
And the plumbing and decoration are best not mentioned.

When we bought our house 6 years ago I picked it because of the potential it had. It is almost where we want it now. After completely gutting several rooms and starting from scratch.
It's a damn good thing my husband does all the work himself. Otherwise it would take 10 more years.
Re: confession
I hate little things about mine. Mostly, I hate the neighbor.
eta: I'm hoping to only have to stick it out minimum of three yrs so I don't have to pay that credit back.

I kind of hate my house too. I think it is because we've been here so long and there's no chance we're moving in the next 10-15 years.
