What shoes do your kids wear during the summer?

For some reason, I'm struggling with this this year.  Maybe b/c every summer past, I just put them in Crocs.  But for some reason, I'm not wanting that this year.

Cam has flip flops....two pairs....and I can see her spending most of her time in those.

Joey though....what do you put your boys in?  He has a pair of flip flops but I don't know.  He's not really a "flip flop kind of kid"....if that makes sense.  Like this morning, I told him to put his flip flops on.  He put his Crocs on.  So maybe I should just stick with Crocs but I'm looking for an alternative....one that doesn't require socks either.

  • Keens, Tevas or flip flops.  That's about it.
  • Get him some Tevas.  My neighbor's son has some, i think she said she got them on Amazon for like $20.  they've got firetrucks on them.

  • DS is really loving his "flip flops" (the kind with the strap in the back so they stay on) right now, but we also have Keens and the fisherman type sandals that he likes.

  • I'm no help - my girls have every color pair of flip flops that they wear all summer long (I love that they can wear the same size!) I have no clue what I am going to do with Drew once he needs to start wearing shoes though.

  • Sandals. Depending on what they're doing, they're either closed toe or open toe.
  • DS mostly wears flip flops or leather sandals. I'd love to get him some Tevas this summer though.

  • Crocs, flip flops, and lots and lots of sandals.
  • Oh duh!!!  KEENS!  I just got Joe a pair a couple of weeks ago.  I didn't even think to get them for Joey.

  • Crocs & flip flops

  • Mainly water shoes.  Flip flops hurt their feet.
  • DD lives in flip flops, she will occasionally wear sneakers.

  • I'm not a fan of flip flops or Crocs for kids. DS wears tennis shoes for preschool/daycare because if he wears sandals he gets mulch from the playground in them. He wears sandals (closed toe) on the weekends.
  • I highly reccomend keans.  My DS lived in them last year--they are a closed toe sandal that have the soles and sturdiness of sneakers and are waterproof!  It's really almost like a "3 in one shoe" so I thought it was a good value.
  • I love the "leather" fisherman-type sandals for DS from Payless.  I like that they are closed toe and dressy looking.

Mostly Keens.  Preschool does not allow crocs, flip flops or any type of shoe that does not strap on for safety reasons.  On weekends/evenings when we are not at the park the girls have crocs or sandals.
