I would strongly suggest thinking twice before ordering in the future. Jennifer/Sweet Birdie (pincushion/plainlyjane) solicited orders for Easter dresses in January. I placed an order for two Easter dresses and two other items on January 26. She claims to have shipped these items on March 24 although she has never provided me with a tracking number. On Good Friday, 9 days later, she informed me (after I had attempted to contact her several times) that they were lost and would not arrive in time for Easter. She told me I would have a refund in 3-4 business days. I STILL do not have a refund two months later despite repeated contact which she has ignored and an additional promise from her last week to issue a refund. This is not good business. I urge you to think long and hard before placing an order.
Re: Attention Sweet Birdie customers
um wow
This really couldn't be reolved without you posting it on here?
I think this post is kind of F'd up
Negative comments are the risk you take when you promote/advertise your business on a public message board. She gets plenty of positive comments here.
Well, while I love Jenn - and her stuff, I do know that Amanda has tried to contact her repeatedly as her post says.
What else is she supposed to do? I mean, seriously - no response to email or facebook for months? Promises of refunds twice?
I guess I don't see how that's f'd up. It's impossible to resolve something if someone won't respond or follow through.
After this long, I think she's justified. Pin's done much the same with one or two sites though I don't remember the reasons.
Note to self, never pissoff a nestie LOL
I am sorry, but I tend to agree with Elise
Especially when you are selling something to a ***-ton of them.
I agree it must be frustrating and I know a lot of you girls give her business.
I just feel like a lot of people have formed friendships with her. I'd like to think maybe she has something else going on in her life? I don't know.
In any case, I'm sorry you are dealing with this Amanda, I hope you and Pin can resolve this. I'm kind of surprised she'd do that.
Aw, don't be sorry. It's OK to agree with Elise.
See and this is why it bothers me - I do feel like a lot of us have formed friendships with her (me included), and I'm totally bothered that she won't respond when she's still posting on facebook and on the nest (on another board).
If she would respond and/or follow through with what she has told Amanda, it would not be a big deal AT ALL, I am sure of it. It's the lack of response and the run around that is the problem, IMO. Not the loss of the dresses.
This is generally something I would stay out of because it has absolutely nothing to do with me, but I do feel like Amanda is justified in bringing this here because it's ridiculous that she can't get a response. And at this point, she's missed out on filing a claim with paypal I'm sure because of the run around/lack of response/friendship.
I agree with this.
But, Amanda I will say this. Last year I ordered something from Pin. She said it shipped, but did not have a tracking number. When I didn't receive it, it took a while to get into contact with her. She promised to reship it or give me a refund. I wanted the dress.
At the time (could still be the case), she did not ship some of her own items, which is why she could not give me a tracking number. When she reshipped it, she gave me the tracking number. With the first package, something was wrong with my address and it was shipped back (to the shop I think?). I finally received the dress.
I hope this all gets resolved soon!
well, THIS should make the board crazy today!
Sorry that happened to you! I hope it gets resolved.
It takes about 2 seconds to issue a refund through Paypal. It's a lot of $ to be out, with nothing to show for it. We are talking about upwards of $100, I am guessing.
Is that why she doesn't come around anymore? I'm sorry but I always thought there was something fishy about her. Especially when she said Martha Stewart wanted her stuff (rolls eyes). She was aking the same sh*t everyone else was making on Etsy.
Oooooh snap!
And xbrook, I am usually one of the first to jump on the "maybe something else going on in her life" team. BUT, no matter what you have going on in your life, there is no excuse for stealing money. And essentially, she has stolen money.
I really like her stuff and have two weekend skirts I could live in and always always get compliments on. I am assuming she is a little over her head busy right now. I ordered a skirt from her for my Jamaica trip a whole two months before the trip and got it the Monday I got back...sigh. Although busy or not this is no excuse and I understand this post.
I don't know Pin personally. I am a top rated ebay power seller (top 5% of sellers in the world). To me a satisfied customer (especially a friend) is most important.
You still may have recourse w/ PayPal. There are a ton of links on their sight to help. Look for resolution center or open a dispute. Also, is your Paypal acct linked to a bank account or credit card? You may have some luck there.
PM me if you need help. I know tons about PayPal!
Hmmm. The etsy shop is closed for the summer.

Maybe she just has a lot going on? I'm wondering if this is the first time you had issues since you have purchased from her for so long. I really do hope this gets all straightened out and it's just a big misunderstanding.
ETA- I'm glad you got your refund and hopefully you guys can still be friends. FWIW, I would still order from her.
I'm glad you got things worked out. I noticed the note on the etsy page seemed to be directed (at least in part) to you. It sounds like she needs a break.
Ouch!
FWIW, I would have totally done the same thing Amanda did. If this was the only way to get the refund/response....you do what you have to do.
That and I would want other Nesties to know that this is taking place, so that they can think twice about ordering from someone who is not following through on their word.
Glad you got the refund A! I am guessing that there is more going on at home than meets the eye....but when you own your own business, you can't let things at home affect it. Otherwise you will find yourself very shortly no longer owning your own business!
