Paci Weaning

Give me your tips.

DS only takes it at naps and bedtime. No other times during the day.

I planned on weaning this weekend since its a long one to see what happens. But last night he lost it out of the bed for the first time in a long time and woke up crying....I guess thats part of it.

Any advice.....tips that worked for you. Im not desperate since he uses it so limited but it would be nice to break the habit. TIA!

We went cold turkey about 2 months ago. The first night he cried a bit, woke up a few times, the second night he cried a little bit while going to sleep but didn't wake up in the middle of the night, the third night, the paci was a distant memory!

  • Hey Jen!!

DD want cold turkey at 13 months. She only used if for naps and bedtime. She and I picked out a new stuffed animal and she got to sleep with doggie instead of having her binky. First night was bad, she cried for 30 minutes, second night 15 minutes. 3rd night, right to sleep without a peep.

    Good luck!!

  • Naps were fine. DD actually did most naps at Daycare. So the Monday after the weekend I took her binky, I took the one from Daycare. She was used to sleeping without it by then and did well. You can do it!!!
