Parenting after 35

Morning ladies...what time do you guys get up?

I'm usually up 4:30-6:00.  I could easily go back to bed after the last night feeding however I decide to stay up because both DH and DS are sleep so I get to enjoy my coffee with no interuption.

I am up anywhere between 4:45a and 6:00a.  It all depends on what time my Early Bird Daughter gets up.

We have tried putting her to bed later (spent a month with her going down at 9:00p only to have her up at 5 and then being nasty all day).  We have tried putting her down early (as early at 6:00p).  NOTHING WORKS.

I would kill to be able to go back to sleep.

  • For now, since I have work flexibility, I wake up when Aaron wakes. Generally around 6-6:30 am.  Though this morning he got up at 7 and I was able to shower before going to him!

I assume that eventually I'm going to need to wake at least a half hour before he does so I can get ready in the morning. I'm not looking forward to that day.

  • The alarm clock is set for 6:00 am, but DD is often up around 5:30 or so, which means we are, too.
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.
  • 6:30, when DD gets up for her morning bottle.
  • 5:-freakin'-30.

  • Michael lets me sleep until 7am and was back down by 8:30 for another nap.

  • My alarm is set for 6:20am....I'll ususally make my way to the shower by 6:30am and get myself ready, have some coffee and then DH and I get LO up by 7:30am (unless she wakes before then, which rarely happens).

  • I'm usually up between 5:30 and 6:30. However, that's not including when I get up for her middle of the night feeding which is usually anywhere from 3:00-4:30. The scary part is that I'm getting used to these hours. Yikes.

M usually wakes up around 6 and DH takes him downstairs so I can sleep for another hour or two.
  • In general, I get up whenever my little alarm clock wakes up -- some time between 7 and 7:30.

Y'all are going to *hate* me.

We do a feeding around 7 in the morning, then  she conks back out until 10 or 11, and I usually do, too.   She's a night owl, no question.

Of course, she absolutely refuses to go to bed before midnight...  Every time we've tried, she just naps and wakes back up rarin' to go, then stays up until 2 or 3.

  • I think you're going to hate me too. DD goes to bed at 9 - we nurse from 7:30 or so until then, then I can toss her in the crib and she'll get herself to sleep. She stays asleep until sometime between 4:45 and 7:15 am, when she wakes to nurse for about 10 minutes, then goes back to sleep until 8 or 8:30.

We figure we've earned this - ds still gets up around 4 most nights (then is sent back to bed), often wakes for the day around 5:45, and did not stop waking up TWICE per night until he was 2years old!

I guess you'll hate me too. Sarah is a sleeper - she goes to bed at 7 and sleeps until 7-7:30, so I sleep until that time too. She has been on that schedule since she was 4 months old.

  • I had been getting up around 6:30 and having a little time to myself to workout or shower before DD got up, but the last 5 or so days, she's been getting up then or earlier too :(
  • L wakes for a bottle around 4:30 and it is usually half and half on whether he will go back down. The mornings he wont go back to sleep he normally chills and babbles in his swing while I doze on the couch next to him... But he goes down between 6:30-7 pm every night easily so I guess the mornings are an acceptable trade off!

  • Adrian goes to bed around 8:30 and normally sleep until 6am. He's an early riser, if he goes to bed late, he still wakes up early. I'm going to bed now (11) otherwise I get screwed. I'm one of those people that needs at least 8 hrs to feel refreshed and obviously I haven't felt refreshed in 9 months, lol!
