3rd Trimester

Measuring 2 Weeks Behind????

I had my 35 week appointment today and for the first time I am measuring behind. Usually I measure right on or +/- a day. Today I was measuring 2 weeks behind. My doctor wasn't worried at all, but I can't stop thinking that something might be wrong. Anyone else start measuring behind this late in the pregnancy?

Re: Measuring 2 Weeks Behind????

  • You probably dropped a little.  I measured consistently 2 weeks ahead then after I dropped I stayed the same and then I dropped even more and now I'm 1 week behind.  It isn't an exact science...it just happens that the number of centimeters *tends* to match gestational weeks.

  • dont quote me on this one but i believe KG_## had the same situation...I hope this means nothing for the both of you!!
  • -/+ 2 weeks is normal.  I have measured consistently 3ish weeks behind and it's just my LO's position because he is measuring ahead.

  • They told me Monday at my 36 weeks that I am measuring small and I am going to have an u/s on tuesday to check on LO.

  • Could this possibly mean you've dropped? My doc said when my measurements change or get smaller that usually means that the baby has dropped. Plus if your doc doesn't seem worried, try not to stress about it.
  • I've consistently measured 3 weeks behind through the entire third trimester.  My doctor has sent me for three growth ultrasounds, which show the baby measuring two weeks behind, but still within the normal range.  Try not to stress - like PP said, these measurements aren't an exact science.
