2nd Trimester

Did you do the first tri screening for Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18?

What were your risks #'s?  What is your age?

  • I didn't do the 1st tri screening. I did the quad panel at 19 weeks. I am 33, btw.
  • I missed the 1T screen, but did the bloodwork at 19w. I'm 25 and my odds were 1 in ~12,000.
  • I did the blood work, I'm 28.

My risk for Down Syndrome and Spina Bifida was low, my risk for Trisomy 18 is 1-81, so I'm having a level 2 u/s next Wednesday.

I had my blood work done at 15 weeks (which now I'm hearing was too early).

  • Mine were 1 in 10,000 for everything, and I am 24

  • 1 in 10,000 for both. I'm 28.
  • I am 35. My risk was 1:10,000 for Down syndrome and 1:5,000 for Trisomy 18.

  • We did no testing at all. I'm 27, DH and I from different races (makes your chances of having matching faulty chromosomes lower), and if anything had come up we would not have aborted the pregnancy anyway, so we figured why put ourselves through the stress?

My OB was very supportive of our decision and said if he were in our shoes he would do the same thing.

1/5288 for Downs and 1/10,000 for trisomy.

    I'm 30.

  • Yes, I am 31 and our chances of Down's were 1 in 9,012 and our chances for Trisomy 18 were 1 in 12,000 something.

  • Apparently the lab my pratice uses does not provide risk numbers (which I give a big "side-eye" to) but instead tells you if your results were positive or negative. They did not provide info on what qualifies as a positive or negatve result but I received a letter telling me my test came back negative for all risk factors. I am 29.

  • I didn't do the 1st tri screening, but our 20 week ultrasound showed a bright spot on the heart.  After having a level 2 ultrasound I was told my risk for down syndrome is 1:350.  We opted not to have an amnio to find out.

    I'm now 37 and I think the numbers where 1:600 and 1:2000.
  • I just did the NT scan last Thursday but the baby wouldn't cooperate so they couldn't get any measurements. They sent the bloodowork in and I go back tomorrow for a 2nd try at the measurements and I will get my results then.

  • Iam 31 and we could not do the NT fold cause the baby would not cooperate so we did 12 & 16 week bloodwork which came back as a positive screen for DS the numbers are 1:190. We had the level 2 ultrasound and everything looks good except they couldnt get good shot of the babys profile & heart cause he was lying face down... I go back next Tuesday for that.

  • Mine was 1:300.  This makes me nervous.  We are going for a second ultrasound on Tuesday.
  • Age 30, baby #2.  1:14,000+ for either.
  • We didn't do any of the screening in 1st tri and also didn't do the quad screen in 2nd tri. We wouldn't have aborted so the info would have just caused a lot of stress for us.
