Here's my ageist take on the prevalent meanness. Most of us older moms are more patient and thus less likely to attack another for a question that may be controversial.
There is such anonymity with the internet and some take that as license to act with cruelty.

Very true Robyn. I would be very surprised if most of those women act the same way IRL.
I LOVE that pic of Aaron. I don't know how he can get any cuter!!

I lurk on the 6-12 okay now 9-12 board to see if there is any good information specific to that age group but I never post. I learned my lesson a long time ago after getting flamed for asking a common question.
It seems we have all agreed (without explicitly saying so) that we want the Parenting Over 35 board to be a safe place for us to ask questions, vent, and share our fears, joys and concerns.
I will admit that I kinda enjoy the fact that this board is slower. It gives me time to check everyone's messages and try and respond them to them all.
I also like how you all seem so close and supportive. This board has a nice, comfy feel to it.
I appreciate the lack of drama because these little babies do not come with instructions and what might be a silly question to an experienced mom might be a very difficult problem to another mom.

ITA! I love being able to read each and every post, even when I've been away for a few days. And there is definitely a comfy feel here. I felt at home on this board from the very beginning because all of these ladies are so welcoming.
Re: sometimes this board is too slow so...
once I got my head bit of because I asked about CIO...
I ask things because I'm not sure.

Ditto. Although I did take a gander at the new 6-9 board and they were in a dither about the new split, so won't be doing that again soon.
