Anyone or know anyone who owns a Stroller Strides Franchise?

Just curious if anyone owns one of these franchises. This is sort of a spin off of the conversation yesterday (i think) about all kids programming being during the day.  I just saw a class outside my house and i am totally jealous! i looked up class info-- SHOCKER-- they are all in the mornings-- during the week.  If I owned a franchise- I would totally do late afternoon/early evening and weekend classes.

Anyone know the cost or ROI on these franchises?? I have requested info from the company.

TIA!

  • i went through the franchise information and presentation. it sounded like a great idea, i just don't have enough time for it. i believe the franchise fees are pretty reasonable (3-5k), but there is no information on ROI (legally they can't give that info).

i looked into it for the same reason - no night classes. grr.

    good luck!!

  • Yeah, SS by me is Tue and Thu mornings.  How convenient!  (insert sarcasm)
  • The year that I stayed home with DS 1, I was a StrollerFit instructor (I'm a certified group fitness instructor; it has nothing to do with my day job.) StrollerFit is the same thing; it was just bought by Baby Boot Camp, which is also essentially the same thing.

For people interested in going, I would look into Baby Boot Camp as well; eg., I don't think Stroller Strides is in my area, and some areas have both. Maybe one will have a time you like better.

As far as the experience goes, it is a decent workout, but I always got a much better workout at the gym with LO in gym childcare, or after he was in bed at night. It's a good way to meet friends, and to work out WITH your LO. But after he was 1, there is no way he would cooperate. Plus, I like working out alone.

But there were moms who did it with 5- and 3-year olds. It depends on your kid, and you.

I don't know about Stroller Strides, but SF was always one of the top rated franchising programs. Generally a gym membership is more value for money strictly speaking. This is somewhat about the experience and meeting moms, etc.

  • I do!  I own a Stroller Strides franchise and I love it and it has been a rewarding experience, monetarily and socially, for me and my family.   I have AM classes during the week as well as Saturday classes.  Each class has a different group of mommies (there are some moms that work part time and full time), although there are some moms that come every day.  And I work that ladies out!  I would doubt that any of them (even the ones that can out run me) would say that they can find a better work out at the gym!  I give them modifications that work with their level, whether they are a high level exerciser or just starting.

As for kids ages, I have a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old and they love class.  I started when my 2 year old was 8 weeks.  I am in the best shape of my life, I have lost all the baby weight and then some, am stronger than ever, laugh and play with my kids every day and I have mom friends that I love!  My kids are experiencing fitness as something fun, not as something to avoid, and they have made such great friends too.  I could go on and on, but I really thing Stroller Strides was a great decision for us!

    Hope that helps!

  • I do too!

I would definitely go through the franchise info session that Stroller Strides puts on- you learn everything you want to know & can ask questions at the end- all the franchise people are a huge help as is everyone in the corporate office.

I am going on my 2nd year of owning Stroller Strides & it has been nothing but an amazing experience. I get to hang out with my daughter, meet other moms & kids in my neighborhood & get an amazing workout. i can't speak for the other stroller fitness classes, but Stroller Strides really is a total body workout- I have moms in my class that are professional mountain bikers, marathoners & triathletes & they use my class for their strength training. That being said, everything is modified for all fitness levels which is why I have moms who have never worked out that keep coming back to class too.

I started Stroller Strides when my daughter was 8 months old- she is now 2.5 and LOVES class and I have to say- is ridiculously well-behaved in her stroller. I am also expecting #2 in 2 weeks.

If you have a class in your area, email or call the franchisee & request an evening class- I know I would LOVE to host one here in AZ, but when I try there isn't a lot of interest. Most franchisees are really open to trying to fit their class times to when moms want them!
