I have to wear one because I have no boobs after my 2nd round of nursing. Other swim suits look too obviously unfilled. A string bikini needs no fillage.
I don't judge those who can pull one off. However, those who can't, shouldn't even try. I used to be able to wear a bikini...but that was about 100 pounds ago! If I get back down to a within normal range weight I will gladly wear one again. But even not pregnant I am a fat obese chick therefore have no biz in a bikini! lol
I wear a bikini. I feel like one pieces are often much more unflattering than a good two piece. Also. tankinis tend to cut at the worst possible parts of you.
I actually need to go out and find a new bathing suit, because I start swimming lessons with DS in a month, and all my bathing suits are a little innapropriate for that purpose - I fear he would accidentally rip my top right off.

And also why does BOTB hate you? Saw your post earlier. Did you stir the pot earlier in your nesting life that I'm not remembering?
wait...BOTB hates me?!?! I guess I have always been a bee in some of their bonnets...I uh...don't like the weirdo mentality that that board seems to foster...and it makes me laugh when they try to take me to task for being logical or rational!
Even when I was in shape, I never wore a bikini. And now that I'm not in shape, I wear a tankini top and swim short bottoms. It probably makes me look worse because there's so much fabric, but it makes me feel a little bit better.

I really wish I would have worn one when I had the body to do so. But, I was really self-conscious. Now, there's no way in hell I could pull one off. There are no amount of hours in the gym or calories I could count to look good in one. My stretch marks and saggy skin are atrocious.
I wore a bikini ONCE in my life, when I was 19 and borderline starving. I looked good in it for those two hours that I wore it. I've not even attempted to put one on since, nor will I anytime soon. Besides the baby fat I'm still carrying around, you would be BLINDED by the color of my skin. I am a true Ginger.
If I had the body for it, I would totally wear one. I also wouldn't judge anyone else wearing one, especially if they have the body for it.

I'm sporting one. I was when I was eight months pregnant so what's stopping me now. I think if you've got it flaunt it, just in a modest way, no thongs or stripper bikinis please.
No bikini here. Trust me, no one wants to see that. I do, however, wear a full coverage two-piece swim suit. My current one is a tankini with ruffles at the bustline and on the skirted bottom.

I'm not judgy at all about how other people look. What do I care if someone wears a bikini. I would wear one if I felt comfortable in it. I wore one after DS when we went to Mexico.
But I don't care if someone looks horrible, it's just a body. Of course, that attitude might be why DH threatens to call What Not To Wear on me.
I'm firmly in the tankini camp right now. But 36 lbs from now when I reach my goal weight (which will be smaller than I've been since early high school) I'll probably rock the bikini 24 hrs a day because I will be so proud of myself.
I don't hate on mom's who wear them....I want to BE them.

I wear both bikinis and a tankini when I'm chasing after my kids, lugging them around, etc. I'm skinny, I look fine. Actually, I feel like my one piece is LESS flattering and highlights problem areas MORE than a well fitted two piece.
I don't judge. I think as long as it's age appropriate (like J Crew, not VS), it's fine. Doesn't even matter if you "have the body for it" because I don't think one pieces hide anything anyway.
I am so jealous of you ladies that can wear one. Even if I wasn't overweight I am certain I could never wear one post 3 kids--my stomach is totally ruined w/ stretch marks & I'm sure I'd still have a tummy flap, just a flatter one. Plus I am white as a ghost w/ freckles, it's never been pretty w/ me in a bathing suit even when I was thin & lifeguarding. I am dreading the week at the beach because I don't even want my BILs to see me in my beach mu-mu...every year I just get fatter (am either pregnant or not lost the prior baby weight). Man, this is just depressing me--LOL!

I'm super jealous of moms who can wear one. I have to do a tankini because I have a horrible c/s flap. I'm saving for a tummy tuck when we're done having children and then I will rock a bikini 24/7.
I wear one and don't really care what some people might think. It is more comfortable than my lap-swimming one-piece.
I don't think anybody is fooling anyone with a one-piece or a tankini or whatever. We can see how big/little, chubby/skinny, busty/boardy you might be.
As long as the wearer is comfortable I say bikinis are great!
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
Re: Do we have enough people here for the bikini debate?
What? Why judge?
I have to wear one because I have no boobs after my 2nd round of nursing. Other swim suits look too obviously unfilled. A string bikini needs no fillage.
Glad I won't be alone, then!
I wear one. Well, more like a skirtini. But I have regular bottoms as well.
Its just how I roll. All you judgermcjudgersons? Bite me. And my hot rack that looks killer in a bikini top.
I don't judge bikinis. I'm happy in my tankini. tummy coverage.
Oooh BOF, can I get a pip?

lol! This exactly.
ETA: I totally thought this was going to be about little kids in bikinis.
Oh, we con totally open that can of worms if you want, seeing as how no one objects to over 30's with kids wearing them! FIGHT!

And I love babies in bikinis.
THIS! I will not judge if the women wearing them can pull them off.
