I am not a new Knot/Nest user but I am an inexperience Bump user. I?ve have searched The Bump forum hoping to find advice before I posted my question but was not successful.
In early April, right before my 37th birthday I went in for my annual Pap exam. I discussed with my doctor getting off the pill and hoping to get pregnant this year. I couldn?t be happier. A week later I received a call that I had Abnormal Cervical Cells and would have to have a biopsy. After that procedure, I was told that I had a level 3 Severe Cervical Dysplasia and would have to come back to have a Leep Procedure to remove any abnormal cells.
I just had the Leep Procedure and was surprised to hear that after the 2 week healing time that I could start TTC. I?m not questioning the doctor?s expertise (though he wasn?t my primary doctor) but I am concerned that I?m over 35 and wonder if anyone had or knows someone that had issues TTC after this type of procedure. The internet searches I saw for the Dysplasia and Leep Procedure left me with more questions/scare than answers and feel more confident hearing advice from a more reliable source. I welcome your answers.
Re: Abnormal Cervical Cells
Hi I don't have experience in this but I wanted to welcome you and say that I'm sorry about what you went through.
Post this on the Pregnant over 35 board, also.
I had it when I was 37, in july of 07 and the got pregnant in end of august of 07. No problem, had a follow up check up while pregnant, no problem then either. Daughter is 2 now and perfect!! Good luck!

Kristin- Thank you so much. It seems that people don't talk about this very much and only by accident to hear that someone has gone through it. At least I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel and can still stay hopeful.
On a side note, I assume you had no issues regarding any follow ups between then and now. My concern is that I have to go back 3 times every 4 months....and ttc doesn't seem appropriate until I get a clean bill of help, am I being silly.

I appreciate your advice and I will post my entry on that board....I really love the ladies on this site, so helpful and positive...the people I need in my life during this difficult time. I hope I can be as positive and helpful to you. Thank you

I had the abnormal cells so had to have a Leep done. When I got pregnant, due to being diabetic prior to pregnancy, it made me high risk and I was 37 so they sent me to perinatal and he followed me the entire time. He did have me go in 2 seperate times to follow up on the LEEP one was early but I forget the other one. Originally the Dr who did the leep told me to wait some odd amount of time to TTC but we had our 1 year anniversary so oops. So basically, if you ttc and are successful, they will follow up with you a little but I guess its not an invasive exam so they know what they are doing if you get pregnant, they are careful or something. Good luck
