Could save your babies life

A very well known family in our community found their 1 year old son unconscious, his father administered CPR, and he is now fighting for his life.

We all know the dangers of cords from window blinds, but sometimes we forget things. His crib was close enough to the cord that he reached it and while playing with it (family thought he was napping) got it wrapped around his neck and it tightened.

Please make sure your cribs are out of reach from your cord blinds, its such a sad story :(

    Oh that makes me feel sick! Poor child and family!

    I love love love your child's name!! I always wanted to name my little girl Layla!

    That poor family...

    At Lowes we bought cordless blinds. They are pricey, but as you can see, well worth it. They are great and very safe for LO.

    I always put the cords to the blinds around the curtain rod and tie them up. I am so sorry to hear about the little boy.  It is so sad. I will say a prayer for him and his family.

    Thank you! Why didn't you name her Layla? Did DH not like it? I originally wanted to name her Hadley, but DH HATED it. So, we had to find something we both liked. Layla was the only name we both really loved.

    I hate hearing stories like this one. Thankfully, our cats are annoying enough to play with the chords so we always tie them up or hide them. I really hope he pulls through.

    Such a sad story. T&P for the family. Not to demean the seriousness, but my cat was actually playing with the cord, got scared & jumped down, and nearly choked herself because the cord was around her neck. Those cords are bad news.
