2nd Trimester

Golfing while pregnant?

In 2 weeks I will be completing my MBA and need to find a hobby.   A friend of mine has asked me to take golf lessons with her since I will now have an abudance of time on my hand I might as well.  However, I wasn't sure if I could play golf while pregnant or not.  Thoughts?

  • Yes you can. I play all the time. Just wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. Have fun!

  • I don't see why not! Like PP said, just stay hydrated and wear sunscreen and/or a hat.  Be aware you may get faint in the heat.  I find myself being less tolerant of the heat and needing breaks in the shade more than I used to.
  • I told  DH I wanted to go golfing.  His response was,"You can golf?  wont you twist  your uterus or something?"  Haha, he's so cute.

  • Won't your belly get in the way?
  • Sure you can... and you normally play better because it makes you extend your arms more. There are lots of women that play on the LPGA that have competed during multiple pregnancies.

  • Of course you can! As long as your aren't BOUNCING around like as a cheerleader you are good! :) Go for it.
  • I'm still golfing. Love it. However the best part of golf is off limits this summer. The beer!

  • I'm still golfing with no problems and the bump doesn't get in the way at all.  As long as you're comfortable I say go for it.

  • I'm still playing, I think it's perfectly fine.  I plan to play until my belly gets too big, and even then I might ride around in the cart w/ DH and putt the ball on the greens!  Like PPs said, just wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.  I also recommend using a cart vs. walking if you tire easily.

other than looking like a fool on the course...you could even bounce around like a cheerleader.  There's no harm in bouncing, jumping, dancing.
