Is there any information available that talks about being however far along with twins equates to looking like a someone pregnant with a singleton at x weeks/months?
I'm just curious. I went to dinner with a friend who is due with a singleton 4 days before me and I'm obviously much bigger than she is so I started thinking about how big I am in singleton terms. Hope I worderd by question clearly.
Thanks!
Re: How do twin bumps measure in singleton weeks?
yup- this is the average... but of course- it all depends. I measured about 5w ahead with my singleton all the time b/c he was pretty big.
with the twins there were weeks where I dropped a little bit - doc said positioning has everything to do with it- if they turn a certain way the measurment is totally different than just a minute before.
This is what I've read as well, and is consistent w/how I've been measuring.
Dr. Luke also says that at 24 weeks: a singleton mom's uterus is about the size of a football w/the ends cut off, where as a twin mom's uterus is about the size of basketball.
I heard 6-8 weeks also.
That is where I was for the most part, it slows down as you get closer to the end; I was measuring 46 weeks from 33-35 weeks.
Ditto! I went to a baby shower last weekend for a girl who's due 11 days before me (singleton). I am definitely a lot bigger than her at this point - she barely looked pregnant to me, lol!
As others have said, it can vary greatly depending on how you are built. I happen to be very short-waisted, so the babies had nowhere to go but out and I ended up measuring 11 weeks ahead.
I think I read somewhere between 6-8 weeks ahead.
My Dr. measured me for the first time today and said twins are usually 6-8 weeks ahead. I measured 7 weeks ahead.
