Do I need to worry? Mom's please help!

Okay so I had my 20 week ultrasound Friday, Cashew looked awesome s/he had so much movement going on I can't wait to feel her.

I asked the doc, where my placement of my placenta was, since I have yet to feel  her/him and I am at about 20 weeks.  The doc said I will have no problem since it is not placed in my front of my belly.

But she did notice that it was more placed down below, near my cervix... yikes!   Blocked cevix means the possibility of  C-section... the one thing I really dont want to happen.

Long story short she suggested to do a ultrasound at 28 weeks and see where the placement of the placenta is.

Did this happen to any of you?  Is there anything I can do between now and then?

 Thanks for your help

  • If it's not already blocking your cervix, it is very possible it'll move upward and away from the cervix.  There will be a lot of growth between now and 28 weeks so a lot of times it does move up.  There's really nothing you can do about it, though.  It is where it is.  Good luck!

This. Sometimes they will move as your uterus expands...sometimes not.Unfortunately it's not something you can change. Sad I hope yours moves!

Mine was down during my 20 week ultrasound and moved before my perinatologist appt a couple weeks later. I wouldn't worry. They will continue to watch it if it's still down at your 28 week appt. Or at least they should. They should do another u/s before you deliver if it's down at your 28 week appt so that way they won't do a c-section for no reason. Good luck!
