Anyone else here use Cloth Diapers?

I started using CD with DS#2, and DD for 3 weeks, and so far I love it, my only wished is that I had done it sooner. We still get the negative comments from friends and family, when we tell them that we're using CD's. I do feel like we don't have enough resources in our area about CD's ( I'm in the Woodlands area), so I do most of my shopping online, the closest CD store is about 45 minutes away. Anyway I just wanted to see who else on the local board uses CD, and hopefully someday we can do a CD get together.

  • We didn't start until DS was 8-9 months old, but we love it now and like you, can't believe we didn't make the switch sooner.  My family has been pretty dismissive of it too (my mom told me I was nuts) but since they've seen the new styles of diapers I think they're coming around.

  • I am planning on CDing with my LO and I agree about the lack of CDing resources in the Spring/Woodlands area! It's frustrating!

  • It is amazing to me that there aren't more CD sources in a city this size.  Sounds like a business opportunity waiting to happen!

The lack of resources is pretty frustrating, I hate that I have to get everything online. A friend of mine in Boston had a CD party at her house, she said they had a blast, and very informative, maybe we can start with something like that.

I've used them on both kids. With DD we started at about 2 weeks and with DS we started at birth.

  • I'm planning on CDing when LO arrives. I've got about half of my stash so far. The only store I've been to is Bebe Verde and it was a joke, everything was really expensive and they didn't even have much. The lady working there didn't know anything she was talking about and I was just annoyed.

Once I get off bedrest I'm going to check out nurtured family, their website seems promising so I'm hoping their store is good.

  • we've used them for birth with Mar and will with this baby as well

the eco friendly family board and the attachment parenting board on the bump are both great CDing resources

Young and Restless also sells CDs. They sell consignment diapers as well as new diapers, so the selection varies greatly every time I go, but the owner is knowledgeable about them. The people at Nurtured Famiily are knowledgeable too and it's a nice store, but they don't have a ton of different brands (they don't carry thirsties)

Does this place still exist? I tried to find it and it seemed closed down.

  • We also having been using cloth diapers since our son was born.  So a CD party would be like a Tuppeware party but with diapers? I think I saw online a business who does that in Houston.

I did not even know there was online business that does CD this, have to check it out.  I thought it would be a good way for us to learn different products, share what works for others, and maybe even swapping a few CD's, and it's also a good excuse to get together with the kiddos ;)

So I went and did a little more searching on the net, and found the company that does the fluff parties, but it seems like it's a new company, and on their website they have very limited options for CD's, there really wans't much on there, maybe they will later. I think if anyone is looking for a place, The Nurtured family is where to go, they also offer a cloth diaper class, that's how I got DH to jump on board, now he loves it. I just wished that it was not so far. A place in the woodlands/Spring area, with a lot more resources, and different classes would be great.
