pubic bone - cracking? popping?

my pubic bone has been hurting like a b!tch for a while now.  but the last couple weeks, there have been times when i move my legs a certain way - usually trying to get up off the couch and it feels like my pubic bone is cracking.  it feels and sounds like knuckles or knees cracking.

any idea what it is?  is it because the bones are seperating/widening?  it feels so weird but also kinda good considering all the pain that I feel down there.

Oh yeah! I get this every single night. It's funny, cause it only happens once  day to me, but it happens EVERY SINGLE day. It's always at night after I've been laying in one position for about an hour or more. I always know when it's going to happen because I get really stiff in the pelvis/hips and then it just cracks. Grosses me out and makes me feel like my hips are going to fall apart one of these days. I asked doc about it and she said it is completely normal and it's just the body getting ready for the big day.

Yay!  I'm glad I'm not the only one!  This happened to me for the first time last night in the middle of the night when I rolled over.  It happened again this afternoon when I was getting up from my nap.  I don't remember it happening with our first child, so maybe this is a good sign that I am progressing!  ;0)

Me too! It's happened to me on and off since maybe 24 or 25 weeks...... The other day I told my mom I feel like a cooked chicken, and if somebody pulled on my legs then the whole thing (my pelvis, hips, etc) would just fall apart! lol. It feels really wierd.

Yes, I am experiencing this. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I never had it with the first two so it was really worrying me. I researched it a lot last week. It is an actual condition some pregnant women have and it has something to do with a hormone that is released to relax and allow the pelvic area joints to move. But, for some, too much of the hormone will release and allow the ligaments and joint to move too easily and it hurts because the joints aren't being supported.

I went to my chiropractor and she is working with me to ease this. After one visit to her the pain went away almost completely. She said I was having a bigger issue with my sacrum and that was not holding position. It all seemed related to what I had found on the Internet when researching.

Oh yeah! That is one of my biggest complaints about pregnancy. I hate having the pressure and hearing the pops.
