I need to get some flowers to plant in my flower beds, hanging baskets and small ceramic pots. The flower beds spend the majority of the day in the shade, and the hanging baskets and pots get direct sunlight until about 2 pm. What types of flowers would be good to get? I would prefer to get perennials for the flowerbeds if possible. If not, annuals are ok, too. TIA!
Re: If you have a green thumb, please come in!
This!I was 4th generation of a plant nursery family. Not a big chain one, look for the mom and pop stores. hey will become your best friend and will save you money in the long run...
Hostas for the shade. They only bloom once though but have lovely foliage the rest of the year. Very low maintenance.
Shasta daisies are also perennials and low maintenance and if you pick the flowers they will continue to bloom.
Stella d'Oro lillies are very hearty but also only bloom once a season.
Lambs ear has a soft blue grey leaf, blooms once, but is low maintenance and will fill in along with the daisies.
All these are perennials.
