It's almost certainly blood mixed with a little mucus. It can be caused by everything from a small anal fissure to a sensitivity to milk proteins (via dairy in your diet). Keep an eye on it, and if you notice it getting worse, bring a diaper to your doctor for testing.
We had this happen with our son, and for him it was a milk protein sensitivity. I had to cut all dairy out of my diet for a few months. He appears to have grown out of it though.
Yep, DD has this very occasionally and she has MPA. I would mention it to your pedi at your next appt. If it starts happening more often it is worth a call/visit.
this happened to us, i called the pedi as soon as i saw it.....she said to keep the diapers in a ziploc for her to see and we got an appt. for first thing the next morning. she told me to keep an eye on it over night, if it was more than a smear to take her to the er. DD had it in 2 diapers--turns out she had a little anal fissure.
