Eco-Friendly Family

CD advice

Hi all, I have been lurking here a little bit to get information but I need some advice. DH and I are planning on CDing when LO arrives in late Aug/early Sept. We're actually going to start off with a service for the first couple of months because I know myself and my current laundry habits and we have a very highly rated eco-friendly service in our area. How many thirsties or similar covers should I have on hand when he/she is born?

If I was to purchase a stash and not use a service, would you rec that I start with prefolds and covers and how many would you have? I really appreciate any advice. I am just a bit overwhelmed at all of the options that seem to be out there.

Started our TTC Journey: 2007 Long cycles after bcp, dx'd with mild PCOS. put on metformin and doing weekly acupuncture; cycles went from 60 days to 30-33. DH had SA done 11/08, dx'd varicocele. Surgery 12/08; no significant changes in SAs over the past year. Low morph, low motility, low count Straight to IVF, on bcp. Start Lupron 11/16. ER 12/7 ET 12/12 tx'd one blast, 3 to freeze Beta #1 12/21 89! Beta #2 12/23 195 First u/s 1/4

Re: CD advice

  • I think around 7-9 covers is what I would want to be comfortable and that would mean cleaning those covers every other day/ every third day.

If you were going to do it on your own, I would get the same amount of covers, 24-36 prefolds and then maybe a few "easier" diapers like fitteds or AIOs for outings.
