can you use tot locks on drawers or just cabinets?

i asked in BBB today & the woman told me you can't use them on drawers although I didn't understand why & from what I'm seeing online, it looks like you can...did you? (and would you recommend tot locks vs the other cabinet locks out there?)

thanks!

  • the magnetic ones?  i guess you could, but you'd have to have a lot of overlap between the frame and the drawer.

we had the clip locks on ours.  they worked a little too well.

  • Hmmm now that I think about it, they would really be a pain to install in drawers. oh well.

  • I'm here lurking (for info on double strollers), but wanted to let you know that you CAN install them on drawers. On our silverware drawer we have a regular catch latch, but on the knife drawer we used the tot lock because we didn't want small hands to be able to reach in through the crack. It works wonderfully and just as well as on the cabinets. We intend to also install them on our large/heavy kitchen drawers so the kids can't pull it out at all and hang on it. The TotLocks don't allow the drawer to come out at all without the key (where catch-type latches let it come out 1-2").

    Hope that helps!
